Algae Oil

Algae can be used to make biodiesel, bioethanol and biobutanol and by some estimates can produce vastly superior amounts of vegetable oil, compared to terrestrial crops grown for the same purpose. There are three well-known methods to extract the oil from oilseeds, and these methods should apply equally well for algae too. These are Expeller or Press and Solvent extraction.Algae Oil as a new biofuel, the advantages of deriving biodiesel from algae include rapid growth rates, a high per-acre yield; and algae biofuel contains no sulfur, is non-toxic, and is highly biodegradable.
