Cold pressed peanut oil is oil which has been produced with the use of 60 low temperature heat technique. The introduction of heat to the process of making oil will degrade the flavor, nutritional value, and color of the oil. Heat, however, increases the yield. For this reason, cold pressed peanut oil tends to be more expensive, although it is also of higher quality.

Some expellers make cold pressed peanut oil by using an oil stone alone to remove the oil. After the oil has been produced, it is graded and bottled.

Cold pressed peanut oil retain all of its flavour and aroma, and contain natural antioxidants that help prevent oil oxidation, thus keeping them from going rancid. Cold pressed peanut oil containing mostly unsaturated fatty acids, will degrade when heated.
