Plate and Frame Filter Press

Generally, the oil filter composes of the prefilter, oil pump and filter unit. Prefilter is a tubular metal mesh which prevents large solid particles of impure oils enter in oil pump. Oil pump usually refer to gear pump, it delivers dirty oil into the filter device. Filter device is a small hand-pressed, plate-and-frame filter press, which with a special paper as filter medium. The impure enter into the plate-and-frame filter press under pressure of oil pump. Solid impurities in the oil are trapped in the filter paper surface, and a small amount of water absorbed by the pores of filter paper. The filtration pressure is usually not more than 0.3 MPa. When too many impurities deposited on the surface of filter paper, filter pressure will increase to 0.35 MPa, or when the filter paper absorbed moisture close to saturation, water content of residual oil filtration is no longer decreases, shut down the machine and change the filter paper. High viscosity of the oil can be preheated to reduce viscosity and then convey through the filter. The oil filter can only remove solid impurities and a small amount of water, it is suitable for electrical machine and lubricating oil purification. When the oil contains too much water and impurities, take some pretreatment before send into the oil filter. Handling capacity of an ordinary oil filter is 25 to 200 liters / min.
